In Cyberpunk 2077, you will pick up a lot of loot throughout your gameplay. Knowing what gear is worth keeping, selling, and dismantling is important to efficient game progression. This guide will help you determine what to do with your loot according to your play style.
This loot guide focuses on scavenger and crafter play styles. Whether you prefer to scavenge or craft gear items, read on to find out which loot you should sell, keep, and dismantle.
The Scavenger’s Loot Guide
If you play Cyberpunk 2077 as a scavenger, you’re not too concerned with spending your Attribute and Perk Points on Crafting. That said, what loot items you choose to sell, keep, and dismantle will be different from the choices of a more crafting-oriented player.
However, scavengers should still dismantle some common and uncommon items to craft medical consumables. Though they are necessary for healing in combat, medical items are not always easy to find or purchase. Therefore, these are the most important items scavengers should dismantle loot for.
Beyond this, scavengers should only keep loot items if they meet two conditions. First, the loot items should be an upgrade from already-owned equipment. Secondly, these items should also be beneficial to one’s play style. Any loot that does not meet these conditions, including junk items, should be sold. Profits can then be used to purchase better equipment.
The Crafter’s Loot Guide
While crafting takes time and Skill Points in the Technical Ability Attribute, it is worth it for those players who want to get some of Cyberpunk 2077‘s best weapons and gear items. Unlike scavengers, crafters sell and dismantle most everything they loot. This allows them to craft the equipment they desire rather than take their chances while looting.
Crafters should obtain the Scrapper Perk from the Crafting Skill set, located under the Technical Ability Attribute. This Perk automatically dismantles all junk items as they are looted. This frees players from carrying unnecessary weight and saves time on gathering components for crafting.
Crafters should also focus on dismantling loot that offers the specific tier of items they intend to craft. To craft higher tier items, for example, dismantle rare and epic loot but sell all common and uncommon loot items. This is because higher tier items will produce uncommon and common components in addition to rare and epic ones.
Additionally, crafters and scavengers alike should stock up on crafted medical items and hold onto them for critical combat situations. Players should never dismantle or sell these since they are often necessary to keep your character alive in Cyberpunk 2077.
