Iron Banner is back for Destiny 2: Season of the Hunt. Visit Lord Saladin in The Tower from December 8th through the 15th to begin Season 12’s first round of this classic Crucible event.

Iron Banner Quest: Slaying Dragons

Grab the Slaying Dragons quest from Lord Saladin to earn rewards for your progress in Iron Banner. While you’re at it, snag some bounties to earn additional pinnacle rewards. Then head to Iron Banner in the Crucible menu to start the quest.

Step 1

  • Defeat 30 Guardians
  • Capture 10 zones
  • Use your Void ability 5 times

Step 2

  • Play 6 Iron Banner Matches
  • Capture 20 zones
  • Defeat 25 Guardians using Energy Weapons

Step 3

  • Get 20 Scout Rifle final blows/precision shots
  • Defeat 100 Guardians
  • Capture 30 zones

Step 4

  • Defeat 15 Guardians using your Super
  • Capture 40 zones
  • Land 15 final blows with Hand Cannons

Step 5

  • Play 15 Crucible matches
  • Capture 50 zones
  • Land 10 precision shots

Captured zones accumulate throughout the quest. This means that any zones you capture in excess of Step 1’s requirements will automatically be added to Step 2, and so on.

The Guardians you defeat will also show up as a cumulative effort throughout the quest. By the time you begin Step 3, for example, you will have already defeated at least 30 Guardians from Step 1.

However, the same does not apply for weapon-specific defeats, among other requirements in many of these steps. If you defeat Guardians with final blows or precision shots using a scout rifle in Steps 1 and 2, for instance, these kills will not count towards the scout rifle defeat requirement of Step 3.

If you do not complete the Slaying Dragons quest before Iron Banner closes at reset on December 15th, don’t fret. You will be able to pick up from where you left off when Lord Saladin returns for more Iron Banner action in Season 12.

Iron Banner Season 12 Rewards

Once you have completed Steps 1-5, visit Lord Saladin to receive the 1530 Centigrade Emblem, the Marble Effigy shader, and a new Iron Banner Triumph.

With the Iron Banner bounties also in hand, your progress through the PvP game mode will grant you some pinnacle rewards, including Iron Will armor and two weapons from Year 1, The Steady Hand hand cannon and The Guiding Sight scout rifle.

Both weapons are set to roll with random perks. As Iron Banner returns throughout the season, Guardians will have more chances to earn their desired perk rolls when they progress on more of Saladin’s bounties.
